Step 2: Application

Eligible nominees are invited to complete an online application be submitted by 10:00am, July 31, 2026.

Eligible nominees will be contacted by Friday, July 17, 2026, and invited to submit an online application for each category/categories in which they wish to be considered.

Step 3: Judging

Independent judges review applications against published criteria.

Online judging will take place from July 31 - August 14, 2026.

With hundreds of outstanding nominations received annually, fairness of the decision-making process is of utmost importance to the Whistler Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors and the Business Excellence Awards Committee.

The following guidelines are used to maintain a balanced process, ensuring nominees receive a fair chance of becoming a finalist or recipient in their category:

  • A selection committee is responsible for judging the awards categories:
    • The Whistler Chamber of Commerce selection committee are made up of past winners and Board Directors. This Committee is responsible for seven (6) of the annual awards categories;
    • The Sustainability in Action Business Award is determined by a selection committee comprised of, and appointed by AWARE Whistler;
    • The Citizen of the Year Award is determined by a selection committee comprised of, and appointed by Whistler Community Foundation;
    • The Pat Kelly Champion of Arts & Culture Award is determined by a selection committee comprised of, and appointed by Arts Whistler.

Winners are revealed live at the Whistler Excellence Awards Gala: The Diamond Celebration – Honouring 60 Years of Excellence at the Whistler Chamber

The 2026 Whistler Excellence Awards are part of the Whistler Chamber's Diamond Celebration, recognizing six decades of business excellence, leadership and community impact.

The 2026 Whistler Excellence Awards presented by Beem Credit Union Gala will take place on 5:30pm, October 22, 2026 at Fairmont Chateau Whistler.
